I'm already tired of winter, plus: sunset dance parties, snowshoe info for beginners, much better camping rules in state parks, my appearance on Lost LA, and the flattening of the internet!
This post and the notes about the perceived LA hellscape reminded me of Charles Hood's wonderful book of essays, A Salad Only the Devil Would Eat. The first essay is entitled "The Joys of Ugly Nature" and it's about finding nature in Palmdale, of all places. A wonderful companion for any Angeleno or SoCal nature lover (despite the smog and traffic and industrialization). Cheers Casey!
